I'm hoping someone here can give me some solid advice before I end up with a massive repair bill. My Durango R/T has developed that infamous HEMI tick over the past few weeks and it's getting worse, especially on cold starts, and I'm pretty sure it's related to the MDS lifters that I've read so much about . I know these 5.7s are notorious for lifter failure if they're not maintained with the right oil, and I'm kicking myself because I took it to a general garage last time and I'm not even sure they used the correct FCA-approved synthetic oil . I live in Al Manara and I've seen a few workshops around, but I want somewhere that actually specializes in American muscle and won't just throw parts at the problem. I've heard that Dodge servicing handled by certified technicians in Al Manara is the way to go, because these guys actually have the proper diagnostic tools to check the MDS activation and live misfire data, not just a generic OBD scanner that misses the real issue . I'm planning to take it in this week before the ticking turns into a full-blown camshaft failure, so if anyone knows a good Dodge specialist in or around the area, please let me know because I'm genuinely stressed about this.
