Reaching Mageblood or Headhunter on the first day of a Path of Exile 2 league is a huge ask, but it is not just about getting lucky. Your real advantage comes from moving quickly, keeping your build stable, and selling useful drops while other players are still gearing their characters. A fresh economy creates plenty of openings, especially if you know how to turn early rares, tablets, and raw POE 2 Currency into steady progress. You do not need to juice every map from the start. You need a plan that keeps you mapping, killing, and upgrading without long pauses. Push the Atlas Before Chasing Extra Content Start by pushing the Atlas as far as your character can handle. Early on, it is tempting to stop for every Ritual, Breach, or Abyss encounter, but that can eat up a surprising amount of time. Those systems become much better once their dedicated Atlas points are active. Before that, they often give you a small reward for a large investment of time. Focus on objectives that improve general map rewards, rare monster spawns, tablets, experience, and currency drops. These upgrades make every later map more useful. A few launch-specific choices are worth mentioning as well. Mantrap was left alone because of reported issues around the start of the league, while Saw the Fittest did not fit the intended Abyss setup. The three Gold Found nodes were also skipped because they could affect the balance of returns. None of these decisions should be treated as permanent. Patch changes can easily make an unpopular node worthwhile later. Build the Farming Loop Around Abyss Once your Atlas has a solid foundation, Abyss becomes the centre of the farming plan. It adds monsters without forcing you into a slow or complicated map routine, and it works especially well with Rogue Exiles and item rarity. Rogue Exiles matter because they drop a lot of jewellery and rare gear. On day one, that gear is not junk by default. Players are replacing campaign items, fixing resistances, and trying to get their first proper mapping setup. A ring with life and two useful resistances can sell quickly. The same goes for an amulet with a good offensive roll or a chest piece with strong defences. A practical tablet setup uses one Overseer Tablet to add Rogue Exiles and two Abyss Tablets to increase the number and quality of encounters. Look for extra rarity, more rare monsters, Monster Weakness, Fortunate Abyss Pits, and stronger chest rewards. Do not sit in your hideout waiting for flawless tablets. During the first few hours, a decent combination is usually better than a perfect one that arrives much later. Make Rarity and Speed Work Together The original approach aimed for about 180% increased item rarity while keeping the character fast enough for high-level content. That balance matters. Rarity alone does not pay the bills if every map takes twice as long, and speed is not enough if you miss every useful drop. You will quickly notice that early profit comes from two directions: direct currency and equipment sales. Pick up rares with a purpose. Check life, resistances, energy shield, armour, evasion, and practical damage combinations. You do not need to identify every item that hits the ground. Learn which bases are popular and which combinations are worth a closer look. The recommended example was a Flameblast Oil Grenade Gemling, but the exact build is not the main point. Any reliable starter that clears smoothly, survives dangerous packs, and keeps item rarity near the target can do the job. Keep each map moving. If an extra Abyss crack sends you across the layout and costs a minute, it may be better to leave it. More completed maps mean more bosses, more Exiles, more chests, and more chances at a valuable rare. That small decision adds up over several hours. Turn Early Drops Into a Larger Budget Ulaman is a strong choice during the first day or two because its currency chests can provide several Exalted Orbs at once. When the early exchange rate is favourable, those drops can form the backbone of your first serious budget. Later, the market may shift. Omens can rise in value, and Amenue may become the better target. For a day-one plan, though, Ulaman offers a simple source of immediate spending power. As your Atlas develops, invest in one mechanic at a time. Ritual becomes far more appealing after its own Atlas support is unlocked, and the same idea applies elsewhere. Avoid spreading points across several unfinished trees. Build one reliable income loop first, then branch out when the supporting upgrades are ready. The reported results from this method were around 37 raw Divine Orbs, 98 Chaos Orbs, and 568 Exalted Orbs, with enough total value to reach both major chase items within 24 hours. That is an exceptional result, not a promise. Your build, route, market knowledge, and league conditions will all affect the outcome. Final Thoughts The strongest day-one plan is fairly simple: advance the Atlas, add Abyss and Rogue Exiles, keep item rarity high, and refuse to let map clear speed collapse. Sell useful gear instead of relying only on orb drops, and spend your early profits on upgrades that let you move faster. You can also use part of that budget to buy POE 2 Jeweller's Orb when a key equipment upgrade needs better socket support. Mageblood and Headhunter will still demand excellent execution, but a focused farming loop gives you a realistic way to turn the first 24 hours into a powerful start.
