So I finally went ahead and booked an inspection for a used Jeep Grand Cherokee I was eyeing. I was a bit skeptical because I've had bad experiences with generic mechanics who don't really know Jeeps, but I found this service that specializes in them. The inspector was really thorough, checked the transfer case, the suspension, and even scanned for any hidden fault codes. He found a small leak from the differential and some worn bushings that the seller hadn't mentioned. I used that to negotiate a better price.
